In the meantime, the sketch below will have to suffice. It is pencil on wood and was primarily completed to test the use of tar gel on a larger piece.<br />

I did a painting of Early Cuyler from <i>Squidbillies</i> for this issue (see below)! Definitely exciting to see my work printed in such a great magazine! I'll try to post some process images in the next post.<br />

I moved out here to work on Social and Mobile games; life in Berkeley also has me cycling on the weekends, going to farmers' markets, and (after reading <a href="http://www.extravirginity.com/extra-virginity/"><i>Extra Virginity</i> by Tom Mueller)</a> becoming increasingly interested in the processes that go into the production of fine Extra Virgin Olive Oil.<br />
<br />
Although I'm not (yet) allowed to discuss with any specificity the project I was hired to work on back in March, I <i>can</i> say that I'm excited about<a href="http://www.juxtapoz.com/Current/preview-juxtapoz-x-adult-swim-special-july-2012-issue"> this issue of Juxtapoz</a>!<br />

I recently finished a spot for Sesame Street and have moved on to doing some work on another PBS show. I have been trying to find time to complete several of my character designs. I also have been frequenting the library, checking out their huge photography books in search of inspiration for characters and ideas. <br /><br />The above is something quick I did in my sketchbook last night while the film "Lenny" played in the background.Lars Edwardshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13080176826310259941noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19868472.post-22752310003080360992009-09-09T01:42:00.000-07:002009-09-09T01:45:05.666-07:00From the Sketchbook<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3n6UQnZouRC3PxUloxCwncu2NR1Md1xQ7EuwYEc-UTzqAX9Rtm6BJMebo1mhdZvtmZDfuWN7JwIJN0-QIpJIvY90mMlo-UKdoIxbdazcbfbu_W8L4m-IOFHrh2xfsSa1T5iBP/s1600-h/sketchbook04.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 174px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3n6UQnZouRC3PxUloxCwncu2NR1Md1xQ7EuwYEc-UTzqAX9Rtm6BJMebo1mhdZvtmZDfuWN7JwIJN0-QIpJIvY90mMlo-UKdoIxbdazcbfbu_W8L4m-IOFHrh2xfsSa1T5iBP/s320/sketchbook04.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5379385598070646770" border="0" /></a><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: 85%;">Click on the image to see a larger version.</span></div>Lars Edwardshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13080176826310259941noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19868472.post-11922707829213918542009-07-23T15:20:00.000-07:002009-07-23T15:30:19.349-07:00Jazz<div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAgi5zzymiDYgDF-ZDujoEGmq7KMxXp3o6dNkDeBZ3kRiaEpDZ7GuZDyZpftlSF_oUAN4vuNLGpb6gWuSno8MQx7GTc327SFVUs0N8qYEBwVEw7DW-UOWRdKE4fySC9x2Ybo33/s1600-h/sketchbook05.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 248px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAgi5zzymiDYgDF-ZDujoEGmq7KMxXp3o6dNkDeBZ3kRiaEpDZ7GuZDyZpftlSF_oUAN4vuNLGpb6gWuSno8MQx7GTc327SFVUs0N8qYEBwVEw7DW-UOWRdKE4fySC9x2Ybo33/s320/sketchbook05.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5361786302773074546" border="0" /></a><br /><span style="font-size: 85%;">Click on the image to see a larger version.<br /><br /></span></div>Something recent from my sketchbook. I really love the loose gestural quality I get when using a China Marker. Very interesting and almost abstract forms emerge when I draw that way, and I love building on those forms.Lars Edwardshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13080176826310259941noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19868472.post-50518485739422744242009-06-30T22:35:00.000-07:002009-07-01T21:16:09.853-07:00Mirror<div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjNaUAzuz0hWiSGh70060VkAUWuDFwELqjO52bNUROnJs0AP0GfI-z3-Pq3hvWvjen8-Kjkn-NUkG3SpbJriPuOZ6i6xQKBOJRbRB4ybnNGg-rCn1NjBYLxd5tLIaoWIYvjgdN/s1600-h/sketchbook03.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 263px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjNaUAzuz0hWiSGh70060VkAUWuDFwELqjO52bNUROnJs0AP0GfI-z3-Pq3hvWvjen8-Kjkn-NUkG3SpbJriPuOZ6i6xQKBOJRbRB4ybnNGg-rCn1NjBYLxd5tLIaoWIYvjgdN/s320/sketchbook03.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5353362969366969314" border="0" /></a><br /><span style="font-size:85%;">Click on the image to see a larger version.<br /><br /></span></div>This is something else from my sketchbook that I like.
